The seeds of Ikkayees were sown in 2014 by a group of college friends in Calicut, who were profoundly influenced by their time at the Institute of Palliative Medicine (IPM), a pioneer of palliative care in Southeast Asia. Their experiences, particularly with a spirited young girl named Kulsu from Odisha, transformed their outlook on life. Driven by a desire to create meaningful change in their community, they embarked on a journey that would eventually lead to the birth of Ikkayees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ikkayees Food Truck: Compassion on Wheels<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2016, the first Ikkayees Food Truck rolled onto the streets of Calicut. With an initial investment of 8 lakhs, this bright yellow truck quickly became a beloved fixture along Kozhikode Beach, attracting locals and travelers alike with the aroma of authentic Malabar cuisine. But Ikkayees was about more than just food. It became a platform for economically disadvantaged women, offering them the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and earn a livelihood.
